When I was in art school, I became interested in using quilting as a medium. I incorporated painting with sewn pieces to create a story quilt based on a dream I had. One of my professors suggested I study Faith Ringgold and I was enchanted and inspired.

Recently, I was looking at the PBS app on my AppleTV and found the Craft in America series from PBS. In 2014, they did a segment on Faith Ringgold and I was inspired yet again.

I was fortunate to see some of her work in person when I was in New York in 2018. We are blessed to still have her with us.
